Italy shares lower at close of trade; SMSBHAV Italy 40 down 1.25%

SMSBHAV – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were DavideCampari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which rose 0.88% or 0.07 points to trade at 7.46 at the close. Snam SpA (MI:SRG) added 0.49% or 0.019 points to end at 3.894 and Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) was up 0.41% or 0.009 points to 2.207 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Prysmian (MI:PRY), which lost 4.12% or 0.70 points to trade at 16.30 in late trade. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) declined 3.80% or 0.348 points to end at 8.802 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) shed 3.74% or 1.14 points to 29.35.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 243 to 105 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.26% or 0.14 to $53.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.63% or 0.39 to hit $62.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1243.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1330, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8937.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.990.
